This is my first Blog for Analyzing My Songs!
I've been writing songs since the age of 10 (42 years now) and want to share the ups and downs of writing my songs that may give some insight to others who write songs!
I plan to take a song I've written and break it down as to why I placed this word here or that phrase there and give a little history as to the reason I wrote the song.
It is my hope this will be informative as well as occasionally entertaining and I invite you to check back often as I "blog" on this journey.....
My first song I ever wrote was a little ditty composed at the ripe old age of 10 called "Walk Over the Rainbow"
Why I wrote it; my best friend Lance had written a song so I just HAD to write one as well! Little did I know it would start me on a lifelong effort to place feelings and thoughts, blend them with music, and sing them for family, friends and even.....strangers! Something tells me I probably just watched the Wizard of Oz on TV before I wrote it...
Walk Over The Rainbow - 1965
Oh we walk right over that rainbow
We will walk over the rainbow
And when we’re over the rainbow
We will find another one to cross
And you can join us in the walk
Oh we will walk walk together
Oh we walk right over that rainbow
We will walk over the rainbow
We will Walk Walk Walk Walk Walk
YEAH!!!!!!
Not much to analyze here but notice the big Beatles finish on that last line!
That is all for post #1 - see you next time!
